Alternative titleThird Suite für Saxophonquartett
Written for the mighty and versatile Len Anderson, the Third Suite is "rule" music, or music composed within a set of parameters; all material is derived from the interval of the mighty and versatile third, either melodically, harmonically or by harmonic movement through modular sequences of thirds. "Pen" is for Penny, grande dame of the squeezebox, much loved and dearly missed.

Electronic wind instruments

Electronic wind instruments, also known as MIDI wind instruments or electronic woodwinds, are devices that combine the traditional playing method of wind instruments with digital technology. These instruments provide musicians with the ability to produce a wide range of synthetic sounds and imitate other wind instruments, while using a blowing technique and fingerings similar to those of traditional acoustic instruments.
