The Song of India is an aria derived from the opera
Sadko, which was composed by the Russian composer
Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov. The opera was completed in
1896 and first premiered
at the Solodovnikov Theatre in Moscow.
Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov lived from 1844-1908. He
incorporated folkloric musical elements in his work,
and through these efforts contributed to the Russian
style of composition.
