Le guitariste débutant a été né de 20 ans d'expérience dans l'enseignement. Bien que spécifiquement conçues comme des aides de l'enseignant, il peut également être utilisé pour une étude indépendante.Des thèmes tels que la posture, la mise au point et le phrasé sont pas prescrits, étant laissé à l'appréciation de l'enseignant. À l'exception des conseils doigté droite et à gauche, cette approche est utilisée tout au long de la série. L'ensemble de la série a pour but d'être un tuteur mesurée et progressive. Les idées sont généralement introduits un à la fois pour éviter de surcharger l'élève.Base droite technique est à la base de la première partie du Livre premier. La capacité de frapper la corde de manière efficace et produire un son clair est primordiale. Gauche technique est ensuite abordé avec des notes sur les trois cordes aiguës en première position. Utilisation du pouce est également couvert brièvement. Léger relief se présente sous la forme de petites quantités de travail glissando et percussion. Dynamics sont ensuite introduits sur une base stable de notes, suivie par des altérations (clé de sol).Le livre est complété par des accords et arpèges, donnant à l'élève une chance de 'sièges échanger' avec l'enseignant et jouer le rôle d'accompagnateur. Ailleurs, l'enseignant peut accompagner l'élève avec les accords proposés, soit en jouant la note fondamentale ou les voicings complets que notée.
