Johannes Brahms' späte Klavierstücke gehören in Gestalt der beiden Ausgaben HN 36 (Broschur) und 37 (Leinen) seit den frühen 1950er Jahren zum Urgestein des Henle-Kataloges. 2011 erschien in der neuen Brahms Gesamtausgabe der Band mit Klavierstücken (HN 6014), dem es mustergültig gelingt, die Edition dieser wichtigen Werke auf eine neue musikwissenschaftliche Basis zu stellen.
