A peaceful carol telling the Christmas story of the angels’ visit to the shepherds. The simple but still jazz-inspired harmonies unison sections and attractive melodies make this a very approachable but effective carol. For SSATBB choir

Introit for the feast of All Saints-'This short celebratory setting originally composed as an introit for the Wells Cathedral Girl Choristers was arranged for SSATB in 2010 (the upper parts unaltered) for the Exon Singes Festival. The text ('Let us all rejoice') exists in a number of versions and here honours 'all the saints at whose solemnly the angels rejoice'. The texture essentially imitative is governed by a syncopated melodic phrase which gives way to softer material in the middle section. The return of the opening idea drives the piece towards a broad jubilant conclusion.'John Phibbs

My soul doth magnify the Lord Op.69Mendelssohn’s Three Motets Op.69 and Three Psalm Settings Op.78 belong to the standard repertoire of many choruses and vocal ensembles. For King And Country is part of a larger work entitled 'The Angel Of Mons' by composer Patrick Hawes dedicated to the memory of the British soldiers who Hawes believes witnessed an 'angel' during a battle in World War One. This is the Vocal Score arranged for SATB Chorus and Piano Accompaniment. This piece with a libretto by his brother Andrew Hawes was premiered in the latter's own church on the centenary of the date the 'angel' sighting was said to have occurred.  The inspiration comes from a mythical story around the Battle of Mons during World War One where a group ofsoldiers supposedly received divine help from 'angels'. The story arose from a fictional short story by a writer that came to be known as fact despite the author's desperate please otherwise. The music itself is beautiful perfectly capturing the crisis of conscience and cognitive dissonance that the soldiers must have experienced being told that they were fighting for King and country yet at the same time being terrified of their own lives. 

Judith Clurman Choral Series-Here Broadway arranger and composer David Chase demonstrates his considerable musical talents with an exciting and wonderfully creative arrangement of the traditional French carol Angels We Have Heard OnHigh. This arrangement for SATB choir with Piano accompaniment was created for Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA recording Holiday Harmonies: Songs of Christmas on the Sono Luminous label.

A work for SATB chorus and organ using words by Keith Walker. The improvisatory style of the organ part should convey something of the Byzantine doctrine of Angels: 'Dazzling youths arrayed in white'.
