Originally for Piano solo Daydreams no. 2 dates from 1867 and was among the first successful pieces that Sullivan wrote. The Musical Times of the day wrote of Daydreams: 'Sullivan has the rarest gift of being able to produce trifles expressed with special value and marked character'.I have found this piece very useful for my own pupils it proves popular and a good introduction to using harmonics. It also makes a good encore after a recital. ABRSM/Trinity Grade 7 standard
