Voice and piano (2 songs with violoncello; 1 vocal duet) - Medium - SKU: MQ.8491-03E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. 7 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8491-03E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8491-03E). French.A French composer, Théodore Gouvy (1819-1898) was one of the most significant composers of 19th Century in Europe. The movement of rediscovering his instrumental music has been increasingly successful in Europe since the 1990s, especially following the birth of L’Institut Gouvy in France. However, his solo vocal music has been waiting to be unveiled to the public. Volume One includes 52 songs of Gouvy.Gouvy traveled widely throughout Europe. He was also a lover of nature. Generally, he spent his winters in Leipzig, but in the summertime, he always returned to Hombourg-Haut, France, to stroll through the woods, to hunt, and to relax. Gouvy was fluent in several languages and had a great appreciation of the Renaissance French Poetry of Pierre de Ronsard whose poetry he had set to music. The fifty-two songs in this volume are largely by Ronsard and other Renaissance poets of La Pléiade.Although Ronsard is approximately 300 years older than Gouvy, they both seem to have the same interest in classical literature, though, admittedly, for different reasons. Celebrated by the French and English courts, Ronsard (1525-1585) was the leader of La Pléiade: a group of seven poets (Joachim Du Bellay (1522-1560), Rémy Belleau (1528-1577), Étienne Jodelle (1532-1573), Pontus de Tyard (1521-1603), Jean–Antoine Baïf (1532-1589), and Jean Daurat (1508-1588), who dedicated their efforts to writing poetry in French rather than in Latin (or Greek) as most of the Romantic poets did. They wished to enrich the French language, and establish a new literature which would be the equal of the other literature of their period, and the equal to poets of the past. French Romantic poetry featured the closeness of the poet to nature, and his ability to communicate with nature by personifying (anthropomorphizing) all of nature’s elements: flowers, the planets, the moon, the breeze, and even the sand upon the shore. As a significant melodist, Gouvy’s treatment of the vocal solo line and his treatment and development of the piano accompaniment places him in the upper echelons as a composer of songs. His diverse cultural life led a rich and significant musical life, interacting with his contemporaries who admired his work, and whom Gouvy knew well, such as Liszt, Brahms, Schumann, Mendelssohn, Berlioz and Gounod.

Instrumental Duet,Piano Instrumental Duet,Oboe,Piano,Viola - Level 4 - SKU: A0.869566 Composed by Thomas Oboe Lee. 20th Century,Contemporary,Romantic Period. Score and parts. 32 pages. Thomas Oboe Lee #3471445. Published by Thomas Oboe Lee (A0.869566). Sally Pinkas and I go way back. She and Evan Hirsch have performed my music on many occasions. In 2002 they recorded my Visconti Sforza Tarot Cards ... Twenty Two Salon Pieces for Two Pianos on Arsis Audio Records.A year ago Sally asked me to write a new work for her trio Ensemble Schumann. For a while I had no idea where to begin. But then the name of the group inspired the idea of taking Robert Schumann's music as a point of departure for the trio. In my search for a title, I came upon a cactus called Parodia Schumanniana. Perfect! That is what I will call my trio - Parodia S. (2018).The work is in five movements.1. Presto - Trio - Presto2. Largo3. Adagio4. Interlude - Molto AllegroAudio link: https://thomasoboelee.bandcamp.com/album/parodia-schumanniana-2018-for-oboe-viola-and-pianoYouTube scrolling video link: https://youtu.be/S083rnbrBTs.

Full Orchestra - SKU: A0.942412 Composed by Robert Schumann (1810-1856). Arranged by Brock Lupton. Contemporary. Score and parts. 189 pages. Brock Lupton #4616367. Published by Brock Lupton (A0.942412). This is one of the lesser-known works of composer Robert Schumann. It was composed in 1849 and introduced in Leipzig on February 25, 1850. There are several possible reasons for the comparative unfamiliarity of this work which, despite its modest title, is a full-fledged 3-movement concerto for four very accomplished French horn players with orchestra. In its original configuration, the work exploits the newly-invented valved French horn. (The horn and trumpet were natural instruments – like today’s bugles, with no valves – until about 1835.) The concerto establishes a festive character at the outset, and becomes almost feverish as the excitement expands. The slow movement (Romanze) typifies another side of the composer, expansive and tender. It leads directly into the third (final) movement which brings together the various elements in an outburst of sheer joy.The title to which this note is attached is my re-orchestration of the accompaniment (score and all orchestral parts). Three different ensemble versions are also available from SMP. Any of these is compatible with the orchestral score and parts.

Bassoon,Clarinet,Double Bass,Flute,Horn,Oboe - Level 4 - SKU: A0.554074 Composed by Henry Balfour Gardiner. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Contemporary. 48 pages. RayThompsonMusic #6597257. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.554074). Composed in 1911.Probably intended as an interlude for a projected one-act opera based on Thomas Hardy's 'The Three Strangers'. Premiered at the Queen's Hall at a Promenade Concert and so successful that it was repeated a month later during the same Proms season.(It became a favourite at the Proms, chalking up 35 performances between 1911 and 1951) Henry Balfour Gardiner (7 November 1877 – 28 June 1950) was a British musician, composer, and teacher. He was born at Kensington (London), began to play at the age of 5 and to compose at 9.Between his conventional education at Charterhouse School and New College, Oxford, where he obtained only a pass degree, Gardiner was a piano student at the Hoch Conservatory in Frankfurt, where he was taught by Iwan Knorr and Lazzaro Uzielli, who had been a pupil of Clara Schumann. He belonged to the Frankfurt Group, a circle of composers who studied at the Hoch Conservatory in the late 1890s Gardiner's most important work, possibly, was his promotion of the music of contemporary British and colonial composers, particularly through a series of concerts he personally financed at Queen's Hall London in 1912 to 1913. The composers represented included Arnold Bax, Frederic Austin, Gustav Holst, Percy Grainger, Roger Quilter, Cyril Scott and Norman O'Neill. (The last four had also studied with him at Frankfurt.)Arranged for symphonic wind dectet and bass

Piano Solo - Level 2 - SKU: A0.844540 Composed by Phil Beaman. 20th Century,Contemporary,Instructional. Score. 1 pages. Phil Beaman #3516637. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.844540). A short piano solo which is predominantly a chord progression piece like those written by Chopin and Schumann, but here brought into the 21st century with hints of New Age and Jazz. Throughout it is crotchets (quarter notes), and the RH is a single note and the LH is a two note chord. Fairly easy, but I have marked it Early Intermediate because I have found in the classroom that students often miss, or tie up, with the many accidentals and constant, and unpredictable, chord changes. Once learned it is an addictive piece! 1:30 minutes

Voice and piano (2 songs with violoncello; 1 vocal duet) - Medium - SKU: MQ.8491-40E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. 4 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8491-40E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8491-40E).

Voice and piano (2 songs with violoncello; 1 vocal duet) - Medium - SKU: MQ.8491-09E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. 6 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8491-09E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8491-09E).

Voice and piano (2 songs with violoncello; 1 vocal duet) - Medium - SKU: MQ.8491-50E Composed by MeeAe Cecilia Nam and Theodore Gouvy. 7 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8491-50E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8491-50E).
