Trombone Duet Trombone - Level 4 - SKU: A0.734358 Composed by Traditional English Carol. Arranged by Dennis Ruello. Christmas,Holiday,Praise & Worship,Romantic Period,Sacred. Score. 2 pages. Chicory Music #3116333. Published by Chicory Music (A0.734358). March of the Three Kings for Trombone Duet arranged at the Advanced Intermediate level. The Crusades, those religious expeditions to rescue the holy places in Palestine from the Muslims, created an enormous interest in both faith and fighting in the Middle Ages. French peasants from Provence in the 13th century, when the tune for this March of the Kings was being sung and danced to, must have endowed the Three Kings of the Christmas story with all the virtues and appearance of their own folk heroes nearer at hand. These were the French dukes, clad in gleaming armor, carrying brilliant banners and bejeweled shields, who fought for the Pope far more willingly than they would have for the lives of their own serfs. Hence the martial references in this text, sung to a tune that is perhaps even older than the verses. Georges Bizet, composer of the opera Carmen, used the same tune as a farandole, or stately dance, in his incidental music for Alphonse Daudet’s play L’Arlesienne (The Woman from Aries). The March of the Three Kings has been arranged in the trombone friendly key of c minor at the advanced intermediate level.Performance time: approx. 2 minutes.

Brass Ensemble - Level 4 - SKU: A0.767198 Composed by Claudio Monteverdi. Arranged by Mike Lyons. Baroque,Renaissance. Score and parts. 16 pages. Lyons Music Services #3074233. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767198). Monteverdi's third book of madrigals of 1592 is one of the earliest steps towards the writing of opera as we know it. In this collection of songs, Monteverdi, for the first time, starts to bring small groups of songs (2 or 3) to form a 'Scena - a collection with similar words or on a similar theme or by the same poet and keeping them as a little group within the book of madrigals. The 11th song, O Primavera extolls the virtues of young love in the spring, when the humours are rising. As with all of Monteverdi's vocal music, it translates really well onto instruments. The individual madrigals are available separately. This flexible arrangement is equally playable on woodwind ensembles as on brass.Flexible quintet parts are supplied as follows:Part 1 in Bb,Part 2 in Bb, Part 3 in Bb/Eb/F, Part 4 in Bb/Eb/C(Bass clef) and Part 5 in Bb/Eb/C(Bass clef)Other parts may be requested free of charge.

Trumpet Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1018953 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 1 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6078693. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018953). Programme Notes: This composition was written to be considered for pairing alongside Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony #3, the Eroica, but can stand on its own virtues as an intense and slow meditation on heroism. The music is like a boiling pot on the stove that’s just began to overflow its bubbles. The first part of the title, kommos, is a Classical Greek term from Attic dramaturgy, literally meaning striking but specifically referring to beating oneself up during lamentation--ripping at the hair, gouging out the eyes--like Oedipus--slapping the forehead, and other acts amid moments of extreme emotional turmoil. For example, from Aeschylus's play Agamemnon, a character bewails: Apollo, Apollo! God of the Ways, my destroyer! For you have destroyed me-and utterly [...]What is this fresh woe [...]what monstrous, monstrous horror, beyond love's enduring, beyond all remedy? And help stands far away! We can easily imagine physical accompaniment to the script; rather than bottling up the pain, the hero lets it all explosively come out.  The second part of the title, When the world moved on, is an epigraph taken from American author Stephen King’s The Dark Tower epic. The primary setting of the novel, a world similar in many ways to our own, is experiencing a dark age where the glorious past is all but a distant memory and all good things are referred to wistfully as occurring, When the world moved on. Yet, the main protagonist, Roland, the last gunslinger, emphasizes that it is not just a figure of speech, but the literal distances between destinations have increased, the positions of the stars have changed, as well as the occurrence of other unnatural phenomena. The world has become a gulf of isolation from all corners. Taken together, this piece is a lamentation for when the world moved on. Truly completed on Yom Kippur during the Covid-19 Pandemic, being unable to fast or go to synagogue, this is my atonement.About the Composer: Benjamin Sajo (b. 1988) is a Canadian composer of contemporary classical music, as well as an educator. Since developing a fiercely independent creative voice upon the completion of his studies at Western (2010) and McGill Universities (2013), he continues to find inspiration from the intersection of mythology, art, and nature upon the contemporary human experience. In 2019, he released his premiere album of original music, The Great War Sextet: Canadian War Poetry with Trombone & Strings, with support from the Ontario Arts Council. He is a member of SOCAN and the League of Canadian Composers.

French Horn Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1018950 Composed by Benjamin Harry Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. Individual part. 1 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6078687. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018950).

Violin Solo - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1018955 Composed by Benjamin Sajo. 20th Century,Contemporary. 2 pages. Benjamin Sajo #6078701. Published by Benjamin Sajo (A0.1018955). Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - SKU: A0.939717 Composed by Richard St. Clair. 20th Century,Contemporary. Octavo. 23 pages. Richard St. Clair #3002339. Published by Richard St. Clair (A0.939717). This 9-minute motet in which the Buddha-to-be Dharmakara praises His master, Lokeshvaraja Buddha and vows to become the Savior of all Beings (namely, Amida Buddha). The music beings with an extended recitative/aria by solo soprano, and proceeds to the full choral ensemble to its conclusion. The MP3 Audio Clip is a computer-generated soundfile of the entire work. The music is completely tonal and traditional, suitable for good amateur choirs and professional choruses alike.Words from the Larger Sutra on Amida Buddha expounded by Shakyamuni Buddha some 2500 years ago in India.[Setting: Many ages ago, Dharmakara Bhikshu (in his stage before becoming Amida Buddha) declares to his Master, Buddha Lokeshvararaja, his intention to create a Pure Land wherein all suffering beings can be saved.]Text (slightly abridged):Then appeared a Buddha named Lokeshvararaja, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Enlightened One, Possessed of Wisdom and Practice, Perfected One, Knower of the World, Unsurpassed One, Tamer of Men, Master of Gods and Men, Buddha and World-Honored One.At that time there was a king, who, having heard the Buddha's exposition of the Dharma, rejoiced in his heart and awakened aspiration for the highest, perfect Enlightenment. He renounced his kingdom and the throne, and became a monk named Dharmakara. Having superior intelligence, courage and wisdom, he distinguished himself in the world. He went to see the Tathagata Lokeshvararaja, knelt down at his feet, walked round him three times keeping him always on his right, prostrated himself on the ground, and putting his palms together in worship, praised the Buddha with these verses:The shining face of the Buddha is glorious;Boundless is his magnificence.Radiant splendor such as hisIs beyond all comparison. The sun, the moon and the mani-jewel,Though shining with dazzling brightness,Are completely dimmed and obscuredAs if they were a pile of ink-sticksThe countenance of the TathagataIs beyond compare in the whole world. The great voice of the Enlightened OneResounds throughout the ten regions. His morality, learning, endeavor,Absorption in meditation, wisdomAnd magnificent virtues have no equal; They are wonderful and unsurpassed.I resolve to become a Buddha,Equal in attainment to you, O holy king of the Dharma,To save living beings from birth-and-death,And to lead them all to emancipation.I vow that, when I have become a Buddha,I shall carry out this promise everywhere; And to all fear-ridden beingsShall I give great peace.Even though there are Buddhas,A thousand million kotis in number,And multiudes of great sagesCountless as the sands of the Ganges,I shall make offeringsTo all those Buddhas.I shall seek the supreme WayResolutely and tirelessly.Even though the Buddha-lands are as innumerableAs the sands of the Ganges,And other regions and worldsAre also without number,My light shall shine everywhere,Pervading all those lands.Such being the result of my efforts,My glorious power shall be immeasurable. When I have become a Buddha,My land shall be most exquisite,And its people wonderful and unexcelled; The seat of Enlightenment shall be supreme. My land, being like Nirvana itself,Shall be beyond comparison.I take pity on living beingsAnd resolve to save them all. Those who come from the ten quartersShall find joy and serenity of heart; When they reach my land,They shall dwell in peace and happiness.I beg you, the Buddha, to become my witnessAnd to vouch for the truth of my aspiration.Having now made my vows to you,I will strive to fulfilll them. The World-Honored Ones in the ten quartersHave unimpeded wisdom;I call upon those Honored OnesTo bear witness to my intention.Even though I mu.

Der Fuehrer's Face (originally titled A Nightmare in Nutziland or Donald Duck in Nutziland is a 1943 American animated anti-Nazi propaganda short film produced by Walt Disney Productions. The cartoon, which features Donald Duck in a nightmare setting working at a factory in Nazi Germany, was made in an effort to sell war bonds and is an example of American propaganda during World War II. Der Fuehrer's Face won the Oscar for Best Animated Short Film at the 15th Academy Awards. A German oom-pah band — composed of Axis powers leaders Joseph Goebbels on the trombone, Heinrich Himmler on the snare drum, Hideki Tojo on the sousaphone, Hermann Goering on the piccolo and Benito Mussolini on the bass drum — marches noisily at four o'clock in the morning through a small town where the trees, windmills, fence posts, and even the clouds are shaped like swastikas while singing the virtues of the Nazi doctrine.

Choral Choir,Choral (TTBB) - Level 4 - SKU: A0.1354419 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Stephen Smith. Celtic,Christmas,Classical,Holiday,Irish,Traditional. 7 pages. Stephen Smith #939138. Published by Stephen Smith (A0.1354419). This concert arrangement for male choir uses the broad and heartfelt melody that Robert Burns originally intended to be paired with his Auld Lang Syne lyric. From a gentle and pensive opening, the arrangement steadily builds -- as the poem extols the virtues of brotherhood, friendship, and faithfulness -- to a truly stirring conclusion. The piano part in this piano-choral score may be used as the sole accompaniment in performances of the work; or the piano may be replaced by a chamber ensemble of flute, clarinet, French horn, violin, cello, and contrabass. It is actually this chamber ensemble version of the piece -- or at least a MIDI approximation of it -- that is heard in the accompanying audio preview. Should you wish to perform the arrangement in this version, please email  the composer at smithstephen@shaw.ca to obtain a full score and parts.

Few words could better describe the late Maestro David Davidson, founding conductor of Distinctly Bronze and a musician whose commanding presence simply earned respect. This driving showstopper demands musicians who are both intense and sensitive, as David would have had it no other way.
