Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 1 - SKU: A0.965763 By Lisa Waites. By Lisa Waites. Arranged by Lisa Waites. Children,Film/TV,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Score. 1 pages. Servant Song Music and Ministry #571431. Published by Servant Song Music and Ministry (A0.965763). I wrote this contemporary hymn as a musical prayer response to the invasion of Ukraine in 2022. In liturgical churches, it functions beautifully as a congregational sung response following the Prayers of the People (or even replacing the Prayers of the People). In evangelical settings, it can be sung as a stand-alone worship hymn right after the sermon, or as part of a set of worship songs at the beginning or conclusion of the service. I am a prolific songwriter, and I've been writing music for 35+ years now. Through all of those years, there have only been a handful of occasions where I have felt more like a conduit of the Holy Spirit than the composer of the hymn; this was definitely one of those times. This is Our Prayer is written in the key of F Major, making it highly accessible for beginning church accompanists. It has a moderate tempo, set in a 3/4 time signature with a lilting rhythm. The vocal range is designed for robust congregational singing. The melody line is just one octave, ranging from Middle C to the C above it; the Alto line is just a six note range, from Middle C to the A above. This score includes the piano accompaniment in a strophic, hymn style format, two-part vocal harmony, and guitar chords (which can also assist pianists who play by chord + melody line, instead of by reading the score). The simplicity of this hymn does not detract from its' beauty, however. This is a highly singable, memorable tune with some interesting rhythmic patterns. The lyrics of this hymn are loosely based on Romans 12:12-21 (As far as it depends upon you, live at peace with all people). The words of the hymn are truly a prayer, asking God for peace, but they also remind us that as people of faith, we are invited to participate WITH God in the process of making peace on earth, by how we pray, live, give, and place our trust in God. One lyric reads that we dare to pray for peace; this is an intentional choice on my part, flagging the potential costliness of becoming people who prioritize peace. The week this hymn was released to Spotify, iTunes, Amazon Music Unlimited, Reverbnation, and Deezer, it debuted at #30 on the Top 100 Contemporary Christian Music Charts on Spotify. The YouTube video version of the hymn (link attached below) was viewed over 7,000 times in the first ten days, by people in over 40 countries. You are welcome to stream it for worship services, on church websites, and on social media. The more people view it, the more ad revenue it will generate, and all profits from the sale of this hymn in any form (video ad revenue, digital MP3 sales on the sites listed above, and the sale of this musical score) will be donated to the Red Cross and the United Church of Canada's Mission & Service Fund; both of these registered charities have targeted programs running to assist Ukrainians who've been displaced by the war. Once the Ukrainian war ends, I will continue to send all profits from the hymn to those same charities to help refugees in other conflict zones. May this hymn comfort and discomfort you. My prayer is that it will prompt all of us to live more faithfully as people of peace - in our individual lives, but also in our families, in our communities, our nations, and our world. To God be the glory!

Choral Choir (SA) - Level 1 - SKU: A0.765570 Composed by Michael Myrick. African,Folk,Instructional,Standards,World. Octavo. 10 pages. MICHAEL MYRICK #3095431. Published by MICHAEL MYRICK (A0.765570). If you are a middle school or jr. high choral director, be sure to look at this! It’s an original song for SA(CV)B choir that captures all the beauty and excitement of the African continent. With easy-to-learn harmonies and a fabulous African percussion accompaniment, you won’t want to miss using this with your students. Based on an ancient African prayer the origin of this poem for this choral piece is unknown. It is likely from Central or Southeast Africa. Bass Flute,Instrumental Solo,Piano - Level 1 - SKU: A0.548690 Composed by Franz Schubert. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Christmas,Easter,Standards. Score and individual part. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #3411129. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548690). A Bass Flute Christmas/Easter classic! Duration: 4:55 Score: 3 pg. Bass Flute part: 1 pg. Piano reads from the score. Schubert seems to have composed this piece as a song-setting. This is because he wanted to portray a poignant emotional event from a poem. The poem was Walter Scott's The Lady of the Lake. Consequently, this song became an integral part of Schubert's Song cycle. Therefore the cycle is called: the Lady of the Lake. In the poem, Ellen Douglas is the Lady of the Lake. The lake is probably Loch Katrine in the Scottish Highlands. First of all, Ellen goes with her father to stay in the Goblin's cave. They go because he earlier refused to join in a rebellion against King James. Roderick Dhu, the chief of the rebellious Alpine Clan, marches up the mountain with his army. But before the battle, he, first of all, hears Ellen singing. She is singing a prayer calling for help from the Virgin Mary. Schubert's piece was first performed at the castle of Countess Sophie Weissenwolff in Steyregg, Austria.  Schubert dedicated the arrangement to her, and as a result, she became famous as the lady of the lake. The incipit of Ellen's song is Ave Maria which is Latin for Hail Mary. It seems like this similarity led Schubert to adapt the melody to accommodate the Roman Catholic prayer Ave Maria. Consequently, the Latin version of Ave Maria finally became more famous than the original so that consequently many believe he wrote the Latin version first. Schubert Franz Schubert (1797–1828) was, in fact, a famous Austrian composer. Moreover, he composed during the late Classical and early Romantic periods. Schubert was comparatively prolific. He wrote more than 600 secular vocal works, seven symphonies, and, correspondingly, a massive amount of piano and chamber music. Critics agree, as a matter of fact, that his most famous works include his Piano Quintet in A major, D. 667 (also known as the Trout Quintet), the Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D. 759 (Unfinished Symphony), the last sonatas for piano (D. 958–960), and the song cycles Die schöne Müllerin (D. 795) and Winterreise (D. 911). Education Schubert was furthermore a musical child prodigy. He studied violin with his father as well as piano with his older brother. In addition, when Schubert was eleven he studied at Stadtkonvikt school, where he became familiar with the orchestral music of Haydn, Mozart, and likewise Beethoven. In due time he left school and returned home where he studied to become an educator; nevertheless, he continued studying composition with Antonio Salieri. Performance Eventually, Schubert was admitted to the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde as a performer. This appointment straightaway established his name in Vienna as a composer and pianist. Finally, he gave his only composition recital in 1828. He died suddenly a few months later probably due to typhoid fever. Legacy Schubert’s music was by and large underappreciated while he was alive. There were all in all only a few enthusiasts in Vienna. After he died, however, interest in his work in fact increased. Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms and other famous composers in due time discovered his compositions. Nowadays, historians rank Schubert expressly among the greatest composers of the era, and his music remains in general very popular.

Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, and other famous composers in due time discovered his compositions. Nowadays, historians rank Schubert expressly among the greatest composers of the era, and his music remains in general very popular. Â

Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548699). A Trombone Christmas/Easter classic! Duration: 4:55 Score: 3 pg. Trombone part: 1 pg. Â

Vocal Solo,Voice - Level 1 - SKU: A0.719761 Composed by Various. Arranged by Curtis Hanson. Sacred. 8 pages. Curtis Hanson #6069327. Published by Curtis Hanson (A0.719761). As years come and go, one increasingly recalls memories of earlier times. One of the most vivid and cherished memories I have while growing up is of Sunday mornings, going to church, sitting in the same pew each week with my grandmother, hearing and singing the beautiful hymns of our faith, and then returning home to the aroma of beef slowly roasting in the oven. My father directed the church choir, my mother and older brothers sang in the choir, so the wonderful music of our faith was instilled in me from an early age. This medley, and others in the series, are arrangements of many of my favorite hymns from those early years, many of which have been lost in more recent editions. For this series, I have elected to use the older texts as that is the way they were first written and the way I first learned them. There is a reverence and beauty in the language enriching the vocal tone which, I believe, is lost in contemporary, conversational, or politically correct syntax. I shudder to think of the day when a penitential phrase such as Hear thou my prayer, O Lord is rendered as Hey, God-dude, listen up - I'm talkin' atcha! I have also opted not to include the many wonderful hymns and carols which are associated with the major festivals of Christmas and Easter as those are commonly found in other collections. A caveat: I have no delusions, and I offer no pretenses, that these settings are great art. They are simply expressions of faith which I hope may bring a small measure of joy to other church musicians. The general concept of each medley is to present the hymn, often in its original chorale form, and then vary its harmony or texture. The hymns in this set include He Leadeth Me, Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us, and O Master, Let Me Walk with Thee. This collection of arrangements is also available for SATB voices and piano or piano solo.

Guitar,Piano,Vocal,Voice - Level 1 - SKU: A0.1432695 By Lisa Waites. By Lisa Waites. Celtic,Christian,Irish,Lent,Praise & Worship,Religious. Score. 1 pages. Servant Song Music and Ministry #1013108. Published by Servant Song Music and Ministry (A0.1432695). We Are Your Creation is a new piece of liturgical service music that functions beautifully as a musical Prayer of Confession or Renewal of Faith for any Sunday in Ordinary Time. It is also appropriate for use as a hymn within your Sunday worship service if you'd like to feature Creation Time or Creation Care, Epiphany, Graduation/Confirmation, Life Stages/Changes, Deepening Discipleship and Spirituality, or a Repentance and Reconciliation theme. The lyrics reference Psalm 139:1-12. The lyrics also draw from a stanza of Stuart Kestenbaum's poem Holding the Light (used with the author's permission). The lyrics are gently trinitarian (God, Jesus, Spirit), offering worshippers the opportunity to confess with honesty and integrity, while simultaneously singing with the hopeful confidence of our faith, trusting in God's restorative goodness and grace. The melody line of this piece has a lovely, lilting (Celtic) feel, and the key is set in F Major. It is simple, yet highly singable, and suitable for average congregational vocal ranges. The piano and guitar scores are highly accessible for beginner accompanists and early intermediate instrumentalists alike. This melody may become an earworm and your congregation or choir will enjoy singing it, again and again! I hope to provide an audio recording and a lyric video for YouTube later this year, but for now, check out the digital download of the PVG (Piano/Vocal/Guitar) score.

A lively and energetic setting of the Glory Be prayer. A memorable, carefully constructed melody that flows with the natural text without regard to any particular metrical scheme. The piano accompaniment works well for performance in more formal contexts such as in the liturgy, but this song can also be sung acapella as an active prayer song. For instance, a leader with a group of children may pray/sing the Glory Be with an action or motion assigned to the word Be. (jumping, spinning, hand-motions, flapping wings and buzzing like bumble-bees for the word Be).

The hymns in this set are Children of the Heavenly Father, Day by Day, Thy Holy Wings, and Beautiful Savior. This collection of arrangements is also available for SATB voices and piano or piano solo.*A note on the texts in this set: Having grown up in a Swedish Lutheran church, the grandson of Swedish/Norwegian immigrants, and currently being choir director of another Swedish Lutheran church, these hymns have a special place for me. This medley of hymns was originally arranged for my church choir with the first verse of each in Swedish. Being under copyright, permission was obtained to use the more familiar English translations of the first three songs for local use. For this edition, I have opted to create my own texts for the first and third hymns while the second hymn is a translation in public domain. I have also provided a verse in English in lieu of the Swedish for those Nordically challenged. The fourth hymn is not a Swedish melody but for obvious reasons is a mainstay of the Lutheran hymnal. Like the other hymns, the first verse is in Swedish while the other traditional verses are also public domain.
