Nurse's Songs was originally written as part of a volume entitled Innocence and Experience which takes its texts from Songs of Innocence and of Experience an illustrated collection of poems by William Blake first published in two volumes in 1789 and 1794. The book also includes music by Sally Beamish Charlotte Bray and Anna Meredith with each composer setting one song of innocence and one of experience. The full publication written for upper voices and piano is available on sale (NOV293799). First performed as part of the Aldeburgh Festival on 9 June 2013 at Orford Church Suffolk by the New London Children’s Choir directed by Ronald Corp.Duration: circa 5 minutes

Going North was commissioned by the Young People’s Chorus of New York for ‘Transient Glory the Voices of Children’ Francisco J. Nunez artistic director. First performed at the Transient Glory Concert on 29th April 2006 at the Ethical Culture Society New York City. The composer writes of her composition 'It is challenging to find a way to compose that hopefully will be interesting and fun for young people and yet not too difficult. A major concern of course is to find the right text: something that will be appreciated by urban young people. I thought that this 'nonsense' poem of John Keats would be highly suitable. It is set for young voices soprano and alto andaccompanied by two clarinets.'
