In his Christmas cantata Allein Gott in der Hoh sei Ehr (To God, on high alone be praise), Telemann celebrates the birth of Jesus as a symbol of the reconciliation with God and as a message of salvation for a sinful humanity. The cantata makes provision for a competent baritone soloist who sings two challenging arias, as well as a four-part choir which provides the framework for the composition with two unadorned chorale verses and, as a climax, intones the Christmas paean from Luke 2:14 Ehre sei Gott in der Hohe (Praise to God in his high heaven). In the first aria, the muted sounds of the optional high trumpet accompany the words O Freudengetone, wie lieblich, wie schone (O music of blessing! How lovely, how pleasing), evoking a gentle Christmas luster. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3911900.

Based on Psalm 98:1-4, this ancient psalm of praise is redressed in modern classical sounds. Intertwined is the canonic melody from 19th century hymn-writer Lowell Mason, “O Music.” The combination honors music as the educational value Mason professed, along with praise to God for skillful singing the psalmist scribed. A great festival piece of general praise, optional handbell choir and children's choir add to the possibilities.

From the New Integrity Anthem Series, comes a song arranged by David Wise and Orchestrated by David Shipps, Oh Praise (The Only One). At first plaintive and ethereal, the track has an almost ancient, timeless quality to it that cradles the listener with its soothing sounds before opening the way to a stately, yet joyful and triumphant experience. The song invites us to Praise Him, who shines brighter than ten-thousand suns, providing a perfect bridge between contemporary praise and worship and a more regal, majestic and traditional song structure.

Hymn tune Once again, Arnold Sherman has collaborated with pianist Joel Raney on this energetic setting of Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, for 3-6 octaves. Originally arranged for piano, Arnold has adapted Joel's setting for handbell choirs. The fresh harmonic structure and repeated rhythmic ideas work wonderfully on handbells. The use of mart sounds and big, thick chords is offset by a more legato and augmented melody in the dynamic mid-section.
