This new setting of Bach's masterwork “Come Raise Your Voices ” has been created by Douglas Wagner. The key has been lowered to bring voice parts (especially bass) into practical ranges. An introduction has beenadded as well as a vocal ending. A new secular text and appropriate voice leading alterations have been created. This choral is also an excellent way to introduce basic counterpoint to young singers.

Composer David Brunner has a gift for setting texts in melodic phrases with gentle contours and with a lyrical style. He has done exactly that with this text by Victorian age poet and essayist Bessie Rayner Parkes.
