Composed in the early 1960s, this marvelous bossa nova may not be as well known as some, but is no less attractive, especially arranged here for young bands by Terry White. A brief duet of trumpet and tenor gives way to the saxes, then ultimately nice rich scoring for the entire band. Also included are solos for tenor sax and trumpet. Nice flow and pacing throughout.

He edits series of recorder publications for both Forsyths and Peacock Press, and founded the periodical Manchester Sounds, in response to the perceived threat to music libraries in Great Britain. In addition he was responsible for the rediscovery of several works for his instrument, including the Rawsthorne Recorder Suite, Antony Hopkins' Pastiche Suite, Herbert Murrill’s Sarabande, the Handel F Major Trio Sonata and John Parry's Nightingale Rondo (the only substantial known British nineteenth century work for a fipple flute). This collection of six sacred works by the best-known Danish choral composers of the 19th and 20th centuries is a journey through 100 years of development in Danish choral music. The name SAM-Klang takes the three voice parts from the arrangements -- Soprano, Alto and Men -- and combines it with the Scandinavian and German words for “sound” to create the portmanteau word “sound together” or “harmony.” The series offers basic and advanced choral repertoire. In addition to new repertoire and new arrangements, you will also find essential parts of the classical German, Scandinavian, French and English SATB repertoire, carefully and considerately reworked for SAM. The arrangements retain the characteristic features of the original movements and have almost the same richness of timbre, resulting in works which sound nearly unchanged to an audience. Piano reductions of all choral movements facilitate rehearsal preparation. The arrangements offer development opportunities for all voice sections, bringing new life and new quality to SAM choir work. SAM-Klang enables youth choirs to gain access to classical choral literature and ensures that mixed choirs who face challenges in finding singers for all male voice parts continue to have access to well-loved repertoire.

The meaning of da capo is to return to the beginning and start again. A musical process, which reaches somewhere but does not end, beginning again and again in a different way, from different basic material throughout nine stages, evolves from the starting tune. The initial tunes come from Mozart's notebooks. They are fragments, ideas for themes, which in their majority or not in the outlined form did not result in finished compositions. Peter Eotvos presents these tunes to listeners in a clearly recognisable way but he immediately develops and transforms them. Mozart's themes are almost immediately remodelled in the chamber ensemble, the instruments of which were still unknown in the 18th century, and the musical journey is made especially adventurous in that the solo (whether played on the cimbalom or the marimba) is presented by a musical instrument which cannot have been used in the 18th century.
