This volume devised by Martin Weyer contains organ music of easy to medium technical difficulty for use at communion. The broad range of styles encompasses Johann Sebastian Bach and early Classical works through to the late Romantic period.

The album contains original compositions and first publications as well as arrangements for organ and twelve pieces for communion in settings by Johann Sebastian Bach with melodies and texts appropriate to communion. Some of the pieces can also be performed with solo instruments (in C, Bb or F). Corresponding instrumental parts are included with the score.

Bach newly interpreted - the vocal band Slixs edited a songbook for mixed vocal ensemble or small choral ensemble containing unusual arrangements of instrumental works by Johann Sebastian Bach. The arrangements range between classical interpretation and flirting with jazz. They demand from the singers a profound basic education in music and flexible alternation between the voices. Explanations of how to pronounce the syllables to be sung help to generate equal instrumental tones. / Choeur Mixte

A large number of works have survived bearing the name of Johann Sebastian Bach the authenticity of which has been called into question on various occasions. This edition now combines all those pieces where Bach?s authorship has been either verified by the musicologists at the ?New Bach Edition? or where there is a degree of certainty about this.The edition gathers together a range of different types of composition: as well as numerous preludes and fugues there are toccatas dance and concert works.
