Book 5 of the Sing Out! series features wonderful new choral arrangements of five top pop tunes, all arranged by renowned Vocal Coach and Choral Director extraordinaire Mark De-Lisser. Each song has been beautifully arranged for SAT chorus, the unison harmonies totally reinvigorating these favourite pop songs. From the classic rock anthem of the 1980s in Toto's Africa , to the modern pop heartbreaker All Of Me by John Legend, these are great songs with even greater arrangements. The unabashed positivity of Nico & Vinz's Am I Wrong makes a fantastic counterpart to the optimism in the face of pain represented by the arrangement of the traditional gospel song Take MyHand, Precious Lord , a tune used to wonderfully affecting effect in the recent film 'Selma'. Finally, this fresh pop choral setlist is rounded off nicely with Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud , a beautiful love song in which the power and emotion of the words will enhance the performance. Arranged for SAT (Soprano/Alto/Tenor) Choir, these songs are designed to be sung to backing tracks, but Piano accompaniments and Guitar chord boxes are included for rehearsal purposes, or if you wish to perform with a live band. Aside from De-Lisser's incredible arrangements, this pack includes an innovative and user-friendly download card with performance backing tracks, full demonstrations and individual rehearsal tracks of each Vocal part recorded by members of ACM Gospel Choir. Helpful hints for performing each piece are also included in this book, giving you everything you need to learn these well-loved songs. Mark De-Lisser is a celebrated Vocal Coach and Choral Director, who has been featured on BBC1's 'Last Choir Standing'. His extensive introduction and notes within this songbook bring a personal touch, as De-Lisser really is passionate about getting people singing, improvising and, most of all, enjoying themselves. The new Choral arrangements of these fantastic pop tracks are ideal for spicing up a performance with these.

Composed by Joseph Canteloube, Bá lèro is part of the first series out of five, from Songs from the Auvergne. It is the most famous song of the series, and this edition was written for Soprano Solo, Tenor Solo and SATB. The lyricsare in local dialect _x001A_Occitan_x001A_and have the French translation below, they consist of questions asked to the bá lèro. The piece is introduced by the SATB singing slowly and in a contemplative way, with a strict tempo. The Sopranosolo then starts with the lyrics, followed by an SATB transition towards the Tenor solo. The piece is then replayed with no introduction and different lyrics to finish with all the voices in perfect harmony. Joseph Canteloube(1879-1957) was a French composer, musician and author, mainly known for his folk songs and for the series 'Songs from the Auvergne' inspired by the area his family was from.

This three-movement work is adapted from my Woodwind Quintet No. 3 (2008), which was originally a four-movement piano duet (2007) and a symphonic wind ensemble work (2007), arranged here for a saxophone ensemble, for premiere at the 18th World Saxophone Congress held in July 2018 in Zagreb, Croatia. The authentic folk music from China West has amazed and inspired me in the creation of this work, which has the folk music elements drawn from the folk songs Du Mu and Amaliehuo of the Zang People; Ashima of the Yi People; as well as Dou Duo and the Lusheng ensemble music of the Miao People. It's written for soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass saxophones with possible multiple players for all parts. Llio was composed during Berlioz's stay in Italy in 1831. In April of that year he set out from Rome, where he held a scholarship as winner of the Prix de Rome, and travelled as far as Nice on hearing that his fiancee Camille Moke had rejected him in favour of another suitor. He had intended to return to Paris to exact revenge, but then he abandoned his plan and instead spent three weeks in Nice, returning in stages to Rome. On this return journey he conceived the idea of a semi-theatrical work that combined music and monologues to express the idea of returning to life after a profound traumatic experience. The composition was finished in Rome in Iune 1831. In the spring of 1832, while staying with his parents in Dauphin, Berlioz copied the orchestral and vocal parts, and the work was first performed in conjunction with the Symphonie fantastique at the Paris Conservatoire on 9 December 1832. It was heard again three weeks later and again on 3 May 1835. While designated as the second part of the Episode in the Life of an Artist, Lelio can never- theless be performed on its own, without the Symphonie fantastique to precede it.

In 1828 Berlioz wrote the Huit scènes de Faust. The work was soon withdrawn but almost twenty years later each of the eight scenes found a place in the Lgende dramatique La damnation de Faust dedicated to Franz Liszt. The first part of the Damnation exposes the figure of Faust and has an introductory nature. From the second part onwards, the course of action is largely based on Goethe’s drama.Contrasting characters and dramatic effect are of central importance in understanding Berlioz’s musical thought and his compositional process. Magic and fairy tale, incantations and ghosts, have been the ever-recurring themes of opera since the Baroque. It is precisely this fantasy in Berlioz's Faust, the “Opra de Concert en Quatre acts”, which comes very close to the spirit of Goethe's presentation.

Following upon “Alexander’s Feast” (1736), in 1739 Handel produced a second setting of the “Ode to St Cecilia” (“Song for St Cecilia’s Day”). At its première it was combined with “Alexander’s Feast”. Rather than a dramatic plot presentable in the theatre, the Ode, in its seven sections, offers a general hymn of praise to music and its impact. Accordingly, it largely consists of emotion-laden arias and festive orchestration. This edition, based on the Urtext from the “Halle Handel Edition”, offers the version heard at the first performance – the version preferred in today’s concert life. The foreword (Ger/Eng) provides many detailed notes on performance practice with regard to orchestration.

Here is something truly different - Brent Wells' new arrangement of the Chinese folk song Ao bao Xiang Hui, “Let Us Meet at the Aobao.” The arrangement begins with a brief choral introduction, where the Erhu (violin) presents the melody of the folk song, complete with traditional ornamentation. The tenor and bass verse recounts the story of a young man who goes to the aobao, only to find that his true love is not there. The sopranos and altos answer, giving voice to her reassuring words: “If you wait patiently, I will run to your side.” Finally, they find one another - and under the clear moonlit sky, sing together. Your singers will enjoy the challenge of a different language, presented in the setting of a charming love story. High school, college, and festival choirs will savor learning and performing this unusual piece.
