Choro Samba and Bossa Nova-Brazilian Piano teaches elements of some of the most appealing Brazilian musical styles: choro samba and bossa nova. It starts with rhythmic training to develop the fundamental groove of Brazilian music. Next examples build up a rhythmic and harmonic vocabulary that can be used when playing the original songs that follow.Besides providing audio for the examples in the book the online audio contains ensemble recordings that allow you to improvise through the middle chorus.

?The main goal of this book is to present what could be called Brazilian guitar today working melodically harmonically and rhythmically in some of the most important Brazilian musical styles. .We have chosen to always use twoelectric guitars in these arrangements (but in the song ?Violeiros e Cantadores? which is for solo electric guitar) so that the essential functions of the guitar rhythm melody and harmony might beexpressed in the clearestand best way in each different style. We have made three versions of each piece for ease of study: a complete one one without the first electric guitar and one without the second electric guitar. Therefore the student will beable to listen to the complete version and thenpractice with the other ones playing the missing parts of the first guitar and the second guitar. At the end of the book like an appendix we have included the bass lines used inthe recordings to strengthen the rhythmic and harmonic comprehension of each style.? Albumblatt für Arriaga, commissioned by the Trio Arriaga and lasting some 7:30 minutes, is the composer's fourth contribution to the classical violin, cello and piano ensemble, for which he has a special esteem. The work was written in homage to the composer Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga, and at the same time as a token of gratitude and admiration for the Trio Arriaga, to whose members the work is dedicated; a double motivation that is reflected in the title of the work. Its course is presided over by a markedly lyrical character that coexists with passages full of energy, rhythmic vivacity and drama. The introduction and epilogue of the work are based on a musical motif derived from the name of the Basque composer (Ju-A-n C-r-I-S-ostomo A-rr-I-A-G-A), made up of the notes A, C, E, Eb, A, E, E, A, G, A, in the manner of a musical acrostic, and from whose nature the harmonic and thematic material of the whole work is largely derived. I have the pleasure of presenting the new Souza Lima playalong method series. This project is the result of extensive research and careful elaboration aiming at offering representative material on the most varied styles of Brazilian music to professional musicians students teachers and all those who take a general interest in this field of music.The focus of this series is on the language of instrumental music nowadays performed in Brazil based on elements of modern improvisation. Each volume contains two CDs with seven pieces of music which are presented in the following versions:1. Complete takes in other words the full versions of the pieces included in the book which are performed by all the instruments playing simultaneously;2. Without melody / solo part so that the melodic instruments can play along with the recording executing their own interpretations and practicing improvisations;3. Without harmony so that the harmonic instruments can practice the language of accompaniment especially with regard to the rhythmic vocabulary of each style.4. Without bass so that the bassists can practice their traditional task of accompaniment while working on the rhythmic but also the harmonic aspects;5. Without drums so that the drummers can practice the rhythms characteristic of each piece of music but also create their own variations.Each book contains the scores in the form of lead sheets in four different versions: in C Bb Eb and bass clef. Due to the widely defined concept of this method it is important to point out that musicians playing transposing instruments might have to make adaptions when reading the scores. Wind instrumentalists are at liberty to carry out adjustments whenever these are called for in order to facilitate the musical execution.The Souza Lima playalong method series was not exclusively devised for musicians to learn and practise how to read scores and accompany the recordings.
