The Chaconne is a musical piece originally derived from
the Passacaglia; typically it features a series of
variations over a repetitive bass pattern. This fine
example from the Baroque period is taken from Purcell's
Suite no.2 for solo keyboard. The piece is in the key
of G minor and the tempo is marked as Moderato.
