variations, a string quartet and a symphony. The German
clarinettist Heinrich Fink (1925 – 1999), a former
member of the ‘Duisburger Sinfoniker’, devoted
himself especially to play the basset horn. After the
second world war he was among the first people to play
basset horn music in the public and to make records of
it. For his own use he arranged the above mentioned
variations for basset horn and string trio.
