Joaquín Turina (December 9, 1882 Seville ? January 14, 1949 Madrid) was a Spanish composer of classical music. He was born in Seville but his origins were of Northern Italy (between Verona, Brescia and Mantova). He studied there as well as Madrid. He lived in Paris from 1905 to 1914 where he took composition lessons from Vincent d'Indy at his Schola Cantorum, and studied the piano under Moritz Moszkowski.
