Émile Louis Fortuné Pessard (1843 - 1917) was a
Parisian composer and winner of the Prix de Rome in
1866. Likely he would wish to be remembered for his
operas and church music. However, he seems to live on
through this one piece, which remains popular in an
arrangement for flute and piano.
Although originally composed for Solo Piano and
arranged for Flute & Piano, I created this
transcription for Viola and Concert (Pedal) Harp.
