Composer :
Arranger :
Bruno MirandaMiranda, Bruno (1971 - )
Instrumentation :

Soli SA, Choral SATB

Style :

A cappella

Date :2004

This choral can be divided in 3 sections. In the first one, the soloists present the theme, with the male voices providing the harmonic background.

The choir then repeats, with a few variations, the theme previously introduced by the soloists leading it to a big climax and ending this section.

The next section presents a simple dialog between the choir voices. The third and last section brings back the dialog between the choir and the soloists

Perhaps you'll accuse me of sentimentality, if I say your music made me cry.But it's true. Your work is beautiful, simple, deep and efficient. Worthy of Schubert or Mahler. The music is perfect appropriate with the text, who talk about (just) dying people. Continue to work in this way. Bravo Mr Miranda !

your tonal choices are somewhat reminiscent of Handel, although, some of your diminished sevenths and the way they are juxtaposed, remind me of Britten. Very sensitive and delicate of soul. Bis.

A la première écoute, on est saisit par la grâce de cette oeuvre magnifique, au point qu'on en oublie la construction, le contrepoint et le savoir-faire du compositeur.C'est un moment rare que vous nous offrez, merci et bravo!

It's good to be played in some of the most important Good Friday/pre-Easter functions. Most spiritual, eliciting a deep spiritual response. Congratulations!
