"Scènes de la vie de bohème" by Henri Murger. This
collection of short stories is set in the 1840s in
Paris's Latin Quarter and revolve around the lives of a
group of young bohemians. The opera focuses on the
relationship between the characters Rodolfo and Mimì.
The opera was premiered in Turin on the 1 February 1896
