In music, a suite is defined as an ordered set of
orchestral or instrumental pieces, more often than not
performed in a concert setting rather than as an
accompaniment. Some examples of suites are :
1. Extracts from a ballet (Nutcracker suite)
2. Incidental music to a play (L'Arlésienne Suites),
opera, film (Lieutenant Kije Suite) or video game
(Motoaki Takenouchi's 1994 suite to the Shining
series), or entirely original movements
(Holberg Suite, The Planets).

The suite was more precisely defined in the baroque era
: the pieces were all of similar key signatures, and
consisted of dances usually preceded by a prelude or
overture. Suite were known by a variety of names
including Suite de danses, Ordre (the term favored by
François Couperin) or Partita. In the 18th century the
term overture was sometimes applied to the entire
suite, as was the case with the orchestral suites of
J.S. Bach.
This work by Alastair Lewis is a suite in the
consisting of a :
1. Fantasia
2. Minuet
3. Bouree.
The middle movement is of a slow tempo, while the other
two are faster. The total duration of the work is about
6min 30s. The key signature of the work is C minor,
which has 3 flats.
