The writing is extremely meticulous and idiomatic for the instrument, the elegance of the serenades counterbalances their refined sensitivity.They are not only concert works but also remarkable exercises for conservatory students.The publication of the serenades restores Viotti to the position he deserves: a remarkable composer, founder of the French XIXth century school.
