The text for this anthem is taken from Isaiah 60:1-3 and is appropriate for Advent, Epiphany, or general use. A lilting 6/8 pattern is established at the beginning with an initial statement of the Arise, Shine theme. This theme is repeated several times, which makes this an easy anthem for combined children and adult choirs. A treble soloist or treble ensemble may be substituted for the childrens choir if needed. A descant is added on the last stanza and leads into an antiphonal alleluia for the ending. A very effective piece.
