Familiar Christmas Hymn No other Advent hymn is more recognizable than the beautiful chant VENI EMMANUEL. Originally set by Larry Shackley for piano solo ("Christmas Reflections" Code No. 8283) this accessible 3-5 octave transcription was done by Arnold Sherman and features the use of open 4ths and 5ths creating a dreamy, wistful mood. This mysterious presentation crescendos and builds to the memorable refrain: "Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel. "
