Master pastoral musician Rob Glover takes this African American Christmas spiritual and crafts it into a piece of ritual music for Communion procession. A cantor sings solo verses underscored by the choir singing “Ooh” alternating with the assembly refrain, “Follow, follow, rise up, shepherd, and follow.” A good example of seasonal music for motivating assembly participation at a time many need encouragement. Parts for treble and bass instruments and guitar are available separately.
