Composed by Victor Hely-Hutchinson. Arranged by Andrew Wyndham. 20th Century,Christian,Christmas. Octavo. 11 pages. Andrew Wyndham #5287517. Published by Andrew Wyndham (A0.1008762).

The 'Carol Symphony' is Victor Hely-Hutchinson's best-known work. The third movement is an arrangement of the carol 'The First Nowell' and is notable particularly for an obbligato. It was used as the theme tune for the BBC radio dramatization of "The Box of Delights" by John Masefield and later for the BBC television dramatization of the same book.

This arrangement, for organ and satb choir is of easy to moderate difficulty. I have added extra verses to make sense of the story and written them in a different key to the rest to provide some relief from D major.

It is ideal for a Christmas concert and guaranteed to please audiences.

Approx. 6 minutes in length
