Composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Arranged by Erion, Paul. 20th Century,A Cappella,Romantic Period,Sacred,Spiritual. Score and parts. 205 pages. Gordon Cherry #3444713. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792098).

The All-Night Vigil (Vespers) Op. 37 is an a cappella choral work first performed in 1915. It's fifteen movements consist of Russian Orthodox Church texts. Rachmaninoff had stopped attending church, but he felt compelled to write some of his own chants in the style of the Church, calling them "conscious counterfeits".

The work is enormous, of over one hour of the most beautiful choral writing with Rachmaninoff's patented rich harmonies, melody and polyphony.

Paul Erion has arranged this work for moderately advanced 10-part Brass Ensemble of: 4 Trumpets in C, 2 Horns, 3 Trombones & Tuba.
