Composed by Lassen, Eduard. Arranged by Celentano, Peter. Romantic Period. Score and individual part. 17 pages. Gordon Cherry #3057303. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.810793).

Lassen's Zwei Phantasiestücke (Two Fantasies), opus 48 for Bass Trombone and Orchestra was composed in 1873 while he was music director in Weimar after Liszt's retirement.

This scholarly edition by Peter Celentano Jr. has been edited for solo with Piano accompaniment.

The 1st movement Andacht (Devotion),  is slow, lyrical and serious, while the 2nd movement Abendreigen (Evening Folk Dance) is playful and joyous. This music is a great musical vehicle for recitals.

It is one of the first Bass Trombone solos from the Romantic period and is appropriate for moderately advanced performers and may also be performed on a Trombone with f-attachment.

This work of about 8-9 minutes in length.
