Early 15th-century English carol for Christmas in Latin and late Middle English, as sung by Anonymous 4 on their album The Cherry Tree (2010).  Straightforward, and sonorous, with rich triadic harmonies, this  carol paraphrases the Compline antiphon for Christmastide, Alma redemptoris mater, in the top voice of  the burden (refrain).  Suitable for male or female voices in close range. May be sung in any key.  .
