Back to School 2015. Red House is a lively Playford English Country Dance tune from the 9th edition of Playford's Dancing Master (1695). It is in G minor (in the 17th edition, the key was changed to A minor). I have kept the original key of G minor to arrange this tune as a trio for three violins. This arrangement can also be played on flute and two violins. The melody remains unchanged, and I've included the slur markings from the 9th edition in the melody. I have arranged this tune in a contrapuntal style that is fun to perform. Two other versions of this arrangements are also available: (1) two violins and cello (2) three recorders. I will add new arrangements to the Playford Trio category if there is sufficient interest in these arrangements.
