Published by James McDonald (A0.885743).Every year at Halloween time my wife (a grade 2 teacher) disguises herself for the children and personifies a witch she calls the Whirlwind Witch. Before coming into the classroom she talks to them over the interphone to warn them that the witch is coming. The children get quite excited that is to say. One day I said to her why don't you add some music to your talk over the interphone. She said she didn't have any, so I said I will compose something for you then. And here it is, the Whirldwind Witch. The piece is interesting pedagogically for its glissandos ( gust of winds or whirlwinds...) its hoppy style ( lots of accents) and the use of diminished arpeggios played with alternate hands.It is also part of my Halloween Pack 2.
