Published by Susan Conant (A0.797086).A energetic arrangement of the traditional French carol for SATB choir, two fiddles (one optional), D whistle, guitar and bodhran drum. The piece begins with a rhythmic ostinato sung by the choir. The traditional melody and instrumental parts gradually layer over the ostinato and build to a dramatic ending. This is a great finale for a holiday music program. It is challenging but well-worth the effort and always received enthusiastically by the audience. The work has been graded Advanced Intermediate because it requires two sopranos to sing extended high A's at the end of the piece. The instrumental parts are for advanced players who are very familiar with traditional Irish style ornamentation. Any performance questions should be directed to the composer. The .pdf file includes conductor's score, choral score, fiddle one, fiddle two, D whistle and guitar/percussion parts. Fiddle two is optional and would only be recommended if there are two fiddle players that must be utilized. The license authorizes purchaser to maintain up to twenty choral copies in their library. Composer/arranger's permission must be obtained to make additional copies.
