Having listened to available renditions, such as Jimmy Hendrix, and Jose Felecianno, etc., I finally decided to arrange it for myself. This is my version, and I perform it almost every time I play (to thunderous applause.) Except for the flamenco like measures at the end, it is a completely "straight" arrangement. The high note at the end..."the la-and of the free....eee," can either just be struck by going up to the 17th fret, or a forced harmonic can be used. I didn't write either ossia in, but they can be played. Has two copies, one just the National Anthem with the flashy ending, and the second has 1st and 2nd endings for those wishing to play more than one verse. Its status as a "hymn" may be questionable, but it IS in most hymnals. And it can be appropriate in church on patriotic occasions.
