Steinberg (A0.870373).This original work for Concert Band evokes the images of a brilliant procession and fanfare for royalty or grand occasions. The brass section gets a chance to flaunt their bravura style of playing throughout. The first section starts with a fanfare primary theme followed by a more melodic secondary theme. Following a brief return to the primary theme, the second section of the work starts. This begins with a chorus of tenor horns that start the development section. The development section itself shows off each different sections of the band and builds towards a reintroduction of the primary theme. This then builds into a return of the triumphant secondary theme which is presented in a new key. The triumphant return of the secondary theme is accompanied by alternating fanfare figures in the cornets and percussion. This leads to the coda like ending which escalates to a bravura conclusion.
