Composed by Ian Rae. Folk,Patriotic,Pop,World. Octavo. 4 pages. Irma Music #2031121. Published by Irma Music (A0.797104).

Perhaps this, as one one of Robert Burns' most beautiful songs is very seldom sung because the folk tune that he found and used for the words was not as good as the poetry. Now, set to a haunting new melody this version has been described by the management of the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Alloway Scotland, as the definitive version of the song - high praise indeed. Burns was very much a pacifist, and this song has been used in services on Remembrance Day, Armistice Day, Veterans Day as a reminder of the futility of war. The backing track used on the sample is also available for download.
