This song was inspired by the words of the Apostle Paul found in several of his New Testament books stating that he thanked God and prayed for his fellow believers. For example: "We always give thanks to God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers." (1 Thessalonians 1:2 WEB). Following Paul's example, the lyrics for this song give thanks to God for our friends and family along with a blessing for God's grace and love to fill our hearts.
 
This short, meditative piece will draw the listeners into an atmosphere of prayer. Formatted as a vocal solo with piano accompaniment and set in the key of D major, the vocal range is from D above middle C to the next A above (a 5 note range).
 
Though the piece is written for voice it also makes a beautiful instrumental piece with a C-instrument (such as flute or violin) playing the solo part. For the violin, all notes can be played in the first position on the D and A strings making this an excellent selection for a beginning violin student.
