Composed by Van & Schenk. Arranged by John Gibson. 20th Century,Jazz,Pop. 23 pages. JB Linear #2012381. Published by JB Linear (A0.581530).

Very fun piece written in 1919 by Van & Schenck arranged for clarinet quartet (3 Bb sopranos and 1 bass clarinet). Not easy music, but not too hard, either. Played in swing rhythm with leads and solos in several parts. You can watch a video of the score at https://youtu.be/85-Z3Qq7bL4 What is a "Shimmie"? Here are some definitions and you can take your pick....but I choose #2. (1)Abnormal vibration or wobbling, as of the wheels of an automobile. (2)A dance popular in the 1920s, characterized by rapid shaking of the body. (3)A chemise.
