Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I've purchased maybe 50 of these safety cables over a period of months and every one of them is made exactly the same. I've never had to test it's strength, but it seems well made and it should do it's job if called upon. ALWAYS use safety cables when hanging lights or anything above a stage or audience, folks. It only takes one accident for you to realize how important it is. Use multiple safety cables when hanging anything you can't easily lift by yourself (general rule of thumb).
These are a great value and look like they are made to last.
I do NOT know if they are rated for drops or high weight items. However, I bought these to make tape/clip rolls for my G&E kit. They're the perfect length, they feel very sturdy, and they are DIRT CHEAP.
They might NOT be rated for stage work, putting safeties on lights, etc... But for just a cheap caribeaner chain, highly recommend!
I bought these safety cables to secure a remote camera in various positions for basketball games. I'll include photos the next time I use them and document their use. The clip works well for the strap hook of the camera, and have other ways of rigging the lens or the friction arm with another cable to make sure that even that would not fall to the ground and hit anyone or damage the floor. Strong, light, and they do the job. I wouldn't change a thing.
A great deal for the money. Correct cable gauge, the hardware is well attached. The reviewer who gave two stars is WRONG, reducing the cable gauge would make the product UNSAFE!! Further, you can spray paint them flat black if you need to... Most of us won't be using them where they will be seen anyway. This product does what it is supposed to do, safely!
Wow, this was a surprise! Based on the product photo, I thought the cable would be about the diameter of a piece of uncooked spaghetti. It's actually closer to about 1/8th of an inch, very strong. Another nice surprise was that about five inches of the cable, closest to the loop, is covered in a protective plastic sheathing, so that it reduces the chance of damaging whatever you're dangling it from. I'll be buying several more of these now that I see strong and durable they are.
We bought these in case we had a bracket failure so the lights wouldn't fall on peoples heads. Luckily they have not been put to the test, but I believe the people in the front row would be just fine if they were.
FYI: Some sort of safety system is a must when rigging lights, people are worth more than the cost of these cables, so don't be ignorant or arrogant and get some sort of safety system for your rig.
I have Paul C Buff Einstein's. There is no way to attach to light as it comes from the factory so I plan to buy a larger metal washer to replace the normal size washer where the tilt tightens and just drill a hole in the large overhanging washer at a tie to point and the I can attach the safety cable. I can always change back the washer if/when I resell the light.
