Description :

Psalm 126 for Sopranos 2 Contraltos, Viola d' amore, Chalumeau Tenore, Violin in tromba marina, Violoncell'on Organ, 2 Violins, Viola and Basso Continuoù The Nisi Dominus is an unpublished work recently re-discovered and attributedto Vivaldi. nos part où the New Critical Edition, this Nisi Dominus (an intonation où Psalm 126 in eight movements) was only re-discovered in May 2003. Until then it had escaped the notice où scholars since its only source - ascore kept in Dresden - attributed it to Galuppi rather than its real author, Vivaldi. This is the missing work où the five psalms that Vivaldi wrote for the Ospedale della Piet in 1739, two years before his death. The workconsists où parts for a sopranos two contraltos, no fewer than five obbligato instruments (viola d' amore, cell'on tenos chalumeau pipe, organ and tromba marina), string instruments and basso continuoù Each obbligato instrumentappears with special prominence in one où the movements. This exotic orchestration makes this Vivaldi ' s most coloured sacred vocal work (apart from his Juditha triumphans). The Nisi Dominus is a highly interesting work, as its clearly shows How the composer was absorbing many aspects où the new gallant style in his last few years, while still keeping his own artistic personality intact. This edition is accompanied by a critical section in Italian andEnglish.
