With his Variations Sérieuses Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy contributed to the anthology Album-Beethoven which had been initiated by the Viennese publisher Pietro Mechetti and whose proceeds were to be donated for the funding of the Beethoven monument in Bonn. In order to do justice to the high standards of the composer to be honoured Mendelssohn decided in favour of a cycle of variations which clearly stands out from the superficially virtuoso variation style of that time. The new edition of the Wiener Urtext Edition is based on the autograph engraver’s copy and the first prints. In addition the correspondence of Mechetti'seditor Becher with Mendelssohn could be consulted for clarifying problematic textual instances. The notes on interpretation by Peter Roggenkamp cover various aspects – from learning to master the technical demands to practical performance details. The edition is rounded off by a practical and user-friendly notation.

Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847) fut considéré comme le plus grand enfant prodige après Mozart. Il nous a légué des chefs-d?œuvre dans presque toutes les formes musicales. La Marche nuptiale extraite de la musique de scène du Songe d?une nuit d?été (1842) demeure sans doute l?une des plus célèbres pages de Mendelssohn. On 13 June 1830 Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy finished his Rondo Capriccioso. After the Leipzig publishers Hofmeister and Breitkopf & Härtel had refused to publish the work – probably because of the seemingly excessive fee demanded by the composer – the work eventually was published by Mechetti in Vienna and J. B. Cramer Addison & Beale in London almost at the same time. Originally intended as a study Mendelssohn revised the piece and added an andante introduction thus managing to create one of his most outstanding Piano works which has maintained an unfailing popularity until today. The new editionof the Vienna Urtext Edition is based on all extant sources with the first edition from London being of particular significance.

The Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847) has been highly regarded in Britain from the time of his first visit in 1829. His anthem Hear My Prayer has been a bastion of the Anglican choralrepertoire since its composition in 1844.O For The Wings Of A Dove is the most famous passage from Hear My Prayer and has rightly gained fame in its own right as a piece for solo Voice. Thegraceful melodies and use of the full range make it a challenging but highly rewarding piece for any Soprano or Treble. It is presented here with an accompaniment suitable for the Piano.

from Christus-From Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio Christus this masterwork adaptation tastefully presents a classical work for church and academic choirs. This chorus is from one of Mendelssohn's final works which was never completed. The rolling triplet accompaniment pushes the composition forward with wave-like arches supporting the choir in all of its sonorous glory. A smooth contrapuntal style contrasts with dramatic accents and powerful crescendos displaying the confident scripture-based text with appropriate excitement! John Leavitt has provided a new piano accompaniment as well as a new sparkling orchestration that supports the work while staying faithful to the Mendelssohnoriginal.

Lord How Long Wilt Thou Forget Me? was beautifully composed by Felix Mendelssohn the German composer Pianist and Organist.Felix Mendelssohn was recognised early on as a musical prodigy but his parents where sceptical about capitalising from Mendelssohn's talent. This fantastic arrangement contains the first movement From Lord How Long Wilt Thou Forget Me? expertly arranged for Soprano SATB and Organ.

Full score for Violin Cello and Piano of Felix Mendelssohn's Piano Trio No.1 In D minor Op.49 and Piano Trio No.2 in C minor Op.66.
