The B Flat Morning and Evening Service and Office for the Holy Communion was composed while Stanford was Organist and Master of the Choristers of Trinity College Cambridge and was already established as a composer and the energetic conductor of the Cambridge University Musical Society. It is for his church music that Stanford is best remembered and this first offering demonstrates his gifts very well.Charles Villiers Stanford was an Irish composer music teacher and conductor who was a founder of the Royal Academy of Music teaching composition to some of the greatest British composers of the twentieth century among them Gustav Holst and Ralph Vaughan Williams. His own composition always displayed technical mastery and for a while he was a great figure in the world of British musical theatre.

Three Intermezzi for Clarinet and Piano-Edited by Colin Bradbury.  Two works for the clarinet by Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924) are well known; the concerto Op. 80 of 1902 and the sonata Op. 129 of 1918. By the time he wrote the first of thesethree Intermezzi Stanford was an established composer with over seventy works to his credit.

Second Set Op 105-Short Preludes and Postludes Set 2 Op.105 is a wonderful collection by important and influential British composer Charles Villiers Stanford. He started a renaissance of British music styles composed prolifically and perhaps more importantly and lastingly he was the mentor to some of the most revered of 20th Century British composers such; as Bridge Holst Vaughan Williams and Butterworth. Including a number of pieces based on themes by Orlando Gibbons this 1908 work for Maunals and Pedals is a superb addition to any organist’s repertoire.

'The Blue Bird' was one of eight settings included in Op. 119; the other seven are no longer well-known.  If this was the only work that we remembered Charles Villiers Stanford for he would be well-worth recalling.
