Three Autumn Sketches after a Watercolor by Maria Willscher (2017) are dedicated to Hans-Peter Bahr. The music is inspired by a watercolor painting by Maria (Neumann) Willscher (1922-1998) entitled Herbststimmung. The three movements explore moods and colors of autumn as reflected in the painting. In the first movement, Herbststimmung (Autumn Mood), a musical line falls under gentle undulation. A central section is a wistful chorale. The second movement, Herbstfarben (Autumn Colors), reflects on the subtle variety and gradations of autumn colors with constantly shifting armonic colors. The final movement, Sonnenuntergang (Sunset), is inspired by the serenely beautiful colors of an autumn sunset, imagining the sun's departing rays illuminating the autumn landscape. Four Imaginary Landscapes from Basho for violin and piano was commissioned by Concert Hall Shizouka. This work consists of four pices which can be performed independently. Three pieces: 2. Spring (Petal by petal fluttering down yellow mountain roses-, Sound of the rapids.) 3. Summer (The summer grass-, holding still the dreams of the stalwart warriors.), and 4. Autumn (Chrysanthemum scent..., in Nara Ancient statues of Momo Kodama (piano) in Shizouka on March 9th, 2007. 1 Winter (Sound of oar hitting waves in the dead of night, Freezing bowels..., tears.) was premiered by Keiko Urushibara (violin) and Shigeo Neriki (piano) in Shizouka on January 14th, 2011. Hisako Takahashi (violin) and Kyoko Sasaki (piano) performed all of the pieces on March 13th, 2011.

Žibuoklė Martinaitytė's Sielunmaisema (2019) for cello and string orchestra contemplates the cycle of the year in its movements, which are named Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Sielunmaisema translated from Finnish means a “soul-landscape, a particular place that a person carries deep in the heart and returns to often in memory. It can be described as a landscape that “hits you in the center of your chest, the one you that immediately feels like home. The composer tells: Soul-landscape is related to questions of identity and place which resonate with two parallel cultural identities that I carry within - my native Lithuanian and later acquired American. My physical home keeps changing and the only thing that remains is music. In this case, the piece itself becomes an ideal soul-landscape reflecting a native environment as seen through the prism of four seasons. BBC Music Magazine (7/2022) praises the CD with Sielunmaisema: Her scores similarly appeal to something beyond the immeadately cerebral, creating a vast shimmering landscapes that lead the mind somewhere dream-like and seem to speak directly to the body’s senses in arresting and unexpected ways.
