Ce recueil est une approche de la technique guitaristique du Finger Picking. Il propose l'étude de dix morceaux instrumentaux, écrits dans des genres musicaux variés : blues, ragtime, bluegrass, ballade, country-waltz... Ces dix morceaux sont extraits de deux CD Country Picking in Nashville - Vol.1 et Vol.2, tous deux enregistrés avec les plus grands musiciens de Nashville. Pour chaque titre, ce recueil propose la partition et la tablature ainsi qu'une analyse détaillée du morceau avec exemples commentés et exercices progressifs sur les différentes techniques du Finger Picking : basses alternées, basses étouffées, pulling-off, hammering-on, doigt en pivot, slide, blocking, harmoniques, roll... Le CD contient d'abord les dix morceaux enregistrés (index 1 à 10), puis les exercices correspondants à chaque titre (index 11 à 26). Chaque exercice est proposé trois fois au ralenti, puis trois fois à vitesse réelle.
