From the popular Coen Brothers movie O Brother Where Art Thou? featuring George Clooney this vintage Carter Stanley song from the '50s was performed in the movie by the Soggy Bottom Boys. Great fun for mixed and male choirs arranged by Kirby-Shaw for soprano alto tenor and bass.

Includes a Piano part on the score for rehearsal purposes only.'My God why hast thou forsaken me?' was originally written in the summer of 2006 on a course run by the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. It was first performed by the choir of Eton College directed by Ralph Allwood. This motet intends to capture the anguish of Jesus’ final moments on the cross. The opening bars attempt to convey the horrific pain sorrow and tragedy that these words and the climactic moment of Christ's crucifixion mean to Christians worldwide. It is also a human sentiment echoed every day by the needy regardless of their religious views. Thepiece ends with a repetition of the opening phrase followed by a blossoming 'Amen'. This expressive conclusion hints at a glimmer of hope although the final chord is left unresolved; resolution though suggested is not obtained.

Originally recorded by Nina Simone on her 1965 album I Put A Spell On You Feeling Good instantly became a standard and has since been recorded by many artists including Muse Michael Buble Sammy Davis Junior George Michael and The Pussycat Dolls.The song was originally composed by Anthony Newlie and Leslie Bricusse for a 1964 musical sung by Gilbert Price. After the inimitable Nina Simone recorded an incredible version for her album a huge number of cover versions followed with Muse's attempt being voted the greatest cover of all time by the NME. We still prefer Nina's version though with the powerful emotion that her vocal performances are known for being unmatched by any artist before or since.    This new arrangement of Feeling Good by Christopher Hussey for SATB A Cappella sounds just great injecting a new and fresh take on the classic through the four-part harmonies. This timeless hit is guaranteed to be a surefire hit with your audiences as a familiar tune is sung in a pleasantly unfamiliar way.

This selection of relatively short sacred works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart gives active choruses an opportunity to perform these pieces without having to hire an expensive instrumental ensemble. For SATB unaccompanied-This thoughtful and sensitive setting of the preces and responses for Evensong was written by composer John Gardner for Chorus SATB with solo parts for the priest. Gardner was a modern English composer and teacher held in great esteem who is best known for his setting of Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day which is a most popular arrangement of that carol and frequently performed. While many modern composers have turned their attention to the evening service they have generally confined themselves to the magnificat and nunc dimittis. This step into the liturgical responses is most welcome. The 3/8 setting of The Lord’s Prayer is a particular pleasure.
