From '44 Duos For Two Violins'. Par BARTOK BELA. Béla Bartók (1881-1945) composed his 44 Duos for Two Violins in 1931. These unique musical miniatures combine folk melodies from Eastern Europe with the musical language of the twentieth century in an exciting blend of tradition and modernity. For the present edition Marcin Langer arranged twenty of these duos for Bb clarinets. The pieces allow players to share the pleasure of chamber music while exploring this fascinating sound world. All the duos sound at the original pitch and can thus be performed by a clarinet and violin. Most of the duets can also be played by a clarinet and alto saxophone combination (nos. 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 16, 17). The book 'Jazzy Clarinet Duets' has been composed to give clarinettists who are usually more familiar with classical music the opportunity to play jazz orientated material in duet form. Both parts are of equal importance and difficulty but written in 'comfortable' keys. These pieces provide interesting material for both practice and performance. The 'Jazzy Series' was written to provide players of moderate abilities with experience of the syncopated patterns of jazz and is available for flute clarinet saxophone flute & clarinet piano and violin.

These duet arrangements of traditional music from Scotland and Ireland with a few original pieces by Florian Bramböck himself will make excellent concert performance material for intermediate players and beyond.

Any of these pieces would be an exciting and popular choice for the concert programme. Both clarinet parts are of moderate difficulty and the pieces are presented with easier arrangements at the beginning progressing to those that are a little more challenging.Today's klezmer comprises a wide range of styles extending from traditional ensembles to 'crossover' with jazz pop and rock. This collection of ten arrangements from the clarinettist and composer Helmut Hödl contains popular melodies as well as lesser-known folk songs. Two additional compositions from Helmut Hödl himself complete the collection. All share a common basis of deeply expressive themes wherelaughter and sadness are reminiscent of language and song.
