Par DYENS ROLAND. Trois mois d'écriture et plusieurs années de doutes et de retouches, ainsi pourrait se résumer le Concerto métis, mon premier concerto et sans doute, encore à ce jour, l'oeuvre qui demeure la plus chère à mon coeur. Créé à Cannes l'année de sa composition (en avril 1990 avec l'orchestre régional P.A.C.A.), ce concerto fut, pendant plusieurs années, uniquement joué par moi-même aux côtés d'orchestres de nombreux pays. L'enregistrement (que j'en ai réalisé en avril 1997 en Arménie) ainsi que l'indispensable réduction de l'oeuvre pour piano réunissent enfin les incontournables conditions pour que le Concerto métis puisse, aujourd'hui, bénéficier d'une 'existence', tant auprès des solistes qu'au sein des conservatoires de musique. Classique dans sa forme (vif-lent-vif, cadence), ce concerto pour guitare et orchestre à cordes en hommage à la divine Ida Presti se caractérise, en premier lieu, par la diversité des 'races' de musiques dont il est traversé de bout en bout, justifiant ainsi son nom sans la moindre ambiguïté. Full Score-Symphony No.5 by Michael Nyman. Premiered on 2 May 2013 in Auditorio Miguel Delibes Valladolid by Orquesta de Castilla y Leon conducted by Jaime Martin. The symphony is one of nineteen Nyman hasplanned to release from 2014 onwards. Arranged for Orchestra duration time is approximately: 20 minutes.

A work for SATB soli SATB chorus and orchestra using a variety of texts selected by Alistair Grant who commissioned the work to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Jacobite rising (1745-6). It was first performed inOctober 1997 in Glasgow by Lisa Tyrrell (soprano) Margaret McDonald (mezzo soprano) Neil Mackie (tenor) and David Wilson-Johnson (baritone) the Scottish Chamber Orchestra Chorus (chorus master Ben Parry) and the ScottishChamber Orchestra conducted by the composer.Vocal score with piano reduction of the instrumental score. Duration c. 40mins.

Full Score-The first feature film collaboration between Peter Greenaway and Michael Nyman made in 1983 following a major series of short/independent films they made together - including The Falls and A Walk throughH. A draughtsman is commissioned by a landowner in the late 17th century to make 12 drawings of his property. Every note of the score was derived from the music of Purcell and was written for the Michael NymanBand. This concert suite which was made in 2001 and first performed in Hanover was specially revised for an all-Nyman concert given by the composer and the BBC Concert Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall Londonin June 2003. Written for Orchestra and Harpsichord the suite lasts approximately 16 minutes.
