In Giuseppe Maria Cambiniâ??s vast production of chamber music, the result of an astonishing ease of writing, we find a large number of compositions which involve the use of the transverse flute. The collection called Six Trios pour flûte, violon et violoncelle is made up of six trios each divided into two movements. This edition is based on the original edition printed in Paris, presumably in 1790, with the wording Sieber Musicien rue St. Honoré vis à vis lâ??Hotel Dâ??Aligre chez lâ??Apothicaire n. 92, held in Paris at the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Fonds Ancien, in separate parts.
