Silberklang im Kirchenjahr for mixed choir (SAB and piano ad lib.) is THE collection of sacred choral music for senior citizens' choirs and older church choirs. Singing is a great hobby for many people, not only in terms of music, but also in terms of socializing in the choir. As the singers grow older, singing in extreme registers becomes especially difficult. That is why the arrangements of hymns and psalm settings, which are guaranteed to give your choir a lot of pleasure, are kept in a comfortable singable range (soprano to E2, alto to C2, men not deeper than G). As most choirs consist of more female than male singers, the arrangements are written in three-part form. Last but not least, the choral score, in extra-large print and with a clear layout, in combination with the pleasant tonal range will ensure that the senior citizens' choir can shine into old age. The continuous piano accompaniment supports the choir, providing a sense of security. With Silberklang, (church) choirs are able to still perform polyphonic works, even in their long-time formations.

Revival and Revival II comprise a resource that provides fresh, accessible arrangements of classic hymns for contemporary piano- and guitar-based ensembles. Compatible with the texts found in GIA’s most recent hymnals, each SAB arrangement is intended to inspire and support the sung prayer of the assembly. For added texture, the final stanza of each hymn includes an optional soprano descant. This special edition contains only the SAB choral parts and optional descants for the 30+ hymns of Revival and Revival II. Make a home in your choir folders for a volume that will have continued use throughout the church year.

This setting is characterized by the use of Gregorian chant and melodious lines. The simple, sonorous and melodic treatment, even in the individual voice parts, with its accompanying piano figuration, is reminiscent of the treatment of Gregorian chant in French choral music of the 19th century. But Matsushita has found a tonal language entirely his own, with the use of sparsely employed modulations, short, flashing dissonances (especially between the melodies of the choir and the piano accompaniment), and through the surprising use of chromatic intervals. The piece is quite accessible for all girl's and women's choirs, and the piano accompaniment can also be performed by an organ.
